The scientist in me has been hankering to get some data into a spreadsheet to analyze the relative percentage of the various sea glass colors from the pieces that I collected along the South Shore of Nova Scotia this summer. I've created a pie chart to illustrate the relative percentage by weight.
The objective is to show just how little blues and purples there are compared to amber, green and white. It also shows that violet is quite rare and the aquas are on the low end. Some of you may ask, 'Where is the red? Where is the yellow or orange?'. Quite simply, these colors are so rare that I didn't find any in this location.
As the keener that I am, I took photos of my Nova Scotia sea glass to create the images used by the pie chart.
Next steps may include creating a companion chart that calculates relative percentage based on number of pieces, as opposed to weight.
The master images of the sea glass colors are quite striking (in my most humble opinion). Fully expect to see these developed into a table of their own.
I have the raw data for the sea glass that I collected in two locations in Cape Breton so hopefully I'll be able to whip up a couple more pie charts shortly.
